Behaviour Consultations

The Behavioural Consultation

A brief overview of consultation process.

Veterinary referral.

Your vet may have already suggested that you contact me for advice, in which case I will contact him/her for a copy of your pet’s medical history. If you are contacting me in the first instance, I will send you a veterinary referral form for your vet to sign.

It is important that I am aware of any health problems that may be affecting your pet’s behaviour, as a qualified behaviourist will take a holistic approach to the treatment of your pet.

Booking a Consultation

Do contact me to discuss your pet’s behavioural problem, at which time I can take some case history and discuss with you which of my behaviour consultation packages would be most suitable for you and your pet’s needs.

At the time of booking, I do ask for a deposit of £50 to be paid to secure the booking. This deposit is non-refundable; however, if I am given 48 hours’ notice, I will change the time and date of the consultation if need be.

The Consultation

Depending on the most suitable package for you and your pet’s needs, the consultation will usually take place at your home or via SKYPE (for parrot clients) and will last at least 2-3 hours. This allows me to observe your pet and to conduct an assessment of him.

I will then devise a behaviour modification plan and demonstrate the necessary skills needed.

Follow Up

Within a week of the consultation, a report detailing my suggestions will be sent to you and your vet.

All packages come with at least one free follow- up session, to be held a few weeks after our initial meeting. The other offered package will have 2 additional follow-up sessions.

Help and advice will be given via e-mail and telephone for six months following the initial consultation.
